A stalled app serving ~6,700 students a term, back on stable weekly releases

A mission-critical app left for a long time without updates: environment sync problems, obsolete native mobile builds, outdated LifeTime configuration and old platform versions.

  • First major release after the gap reached a stable production state; the second cleared the bug backlog in time for grading season.

Won through our POC; an Excel, Access, ASP and VBA estate moving to OutSystems

Rebuilding a complex legacy tool for an oil and gas operator on a modern low-code architecture, for stability, scalability, maintainability and integration readiness.

General Tendering Tool (GTT)

Global proposal platform for 6 Schneider hubs, modernized to .NET Core and Angular

Hubs use it to build construction proposals: input/output signals, system segregation and location in; hardware selection, bill of materials and manpower plan out.

  • Six projects of four to six modules on Excel, MS Access and Visual Basic, with much of the logic in SQL procedures and cursors, moved progressively to C#, .NET Core and Angular.

A music sheet catalogue and community for Middle Eastern music, from classical heritage pieces to contemporary pop, with interactive playback and notation rendering. It is also where I practise Scrum properly, with a real product owner pushing back.

Kanban with a weekly release cycle, run with planning, standups, reviews and retrospectives. It is how AUC's stalled app got back to stable releases.

Took OutSystems from zero to a department, then launched Creatio as a second practice. Proofs of concept won the ADSC and PDO contracts.

About

I didn't start in software. That turned out to matter.

My first job was in a mechanical technical office at Petrojet, where I built an app to index engineering drawings because finding answers took an afternoon. That instinct, find the bottleneck and build what removes it, has run through everything since: ITI's full-stack diploma, nearly five years of web and mobile at Qvision, almost four modernizing Schneider Electric's global tendering platform, and now a low-code department at Advansys-ESC.

A science degree from Alexandria University taught me to care about why a system behaves the way it does, and to enjoy explaining it. Arabic is my first language and English is fluent.
